Ashlynne began the 8th grade today at Gray's Creek Middle School. It's a brand spankin' new school opening it's doors for it's first year and it's a nice step up from the old overcrowded school she came from in Monterey last year! She likes all her teachers and once again has been placed in the AIG Program (academically/intellectually gifted) for math. She does not get this from me!
As you know, we only registered her two weeks ago so she was crossing her fingers she'd get the electives she wanted, namely drama and french. Ok, how 'bout orchestra and band!? Hmmm... She's good with orchestra since she's taken violin, but band too? (She played mandatory flute in 6th grade in Monterey so I guess that's where that's coming from) Still, getting that changed tomorrow-- let you know how it all pans out!
Other than that, it's going to take both her and I a WHILE to get used to a 5am wake-up call! The bus comes about 6:30 and thankfully stops right in front of the house. In fact, it has to turn around and come right back by so she has an extra chance if she's late out the door :-) With all the commotion this morning Trey woke up and I marched him right back to bed. No way is he starting HIS day that early!
