Weekend fun

Today Ashlynne and I made a yummy egg custard pie from scratch! It turned out great. We've decided to try a new recipe every weekend if we can manage it with her crazy schedule!

Trey's 6th Birthday!

The wind is so loud on the video, I couldn't get the volume any better, sorry! You get the idea though, they sing, Happy Birthday, then the coach yells, "dog pile!" :-)

Trey kicked off his birthday morning with presents-in-bed, which we do with the kids each year. He loved the slip-n-slide and water toys from Grandma & Grandpa Tessier, dinosaurs from Grandma Mickie & Pop-Pop, and Chuck-E-Cheese gift cards from Grandaddy and Grandmother Sandy! He was super excited by his new android tablet that will now keep him from draining all the batteries on all our techno gear in the house, haha! We have loaded it with lots of games that he will love playing in the car or down time. Oh, and please excuse the pink and orange polk-a-dot sheets on Trey's bed, haha! If I'd been thinking there'd be picture taking, I would have remembered to change them back to some manly, big boy, six year old sheets!

His class helped him celebrate and I brought Avengers cupcakes for everyone at snacktime. Then to cap off the day, he had a baseball game that evening and the team surprised him by singing, Happy Birthday, to him before the game started! Since it's just the middle of the week, we'll postpone the actual party with his good friends, Jake and Tucker until a weekend when we can really celebrate. Thanks to everyone for the good wishes for Trey!

Happy Birthday, Grandma Mickie!

We sent this to Grandma Mickie for the house boat she and Chuck share with a group of their friends. They call themselves the Idiyacht's Club, so we figured they needed to personalize a little!

Spring Break, 2012

It was sort of a last minute decision to jump in the car and follow Mickie & Chuckerboy back to Alabama and spend our spring break down at the beach in Gulf Shores. We rode in Grandma's new convertible with the top down, had lunch at my favorite beachy-spot- Lulu's and tried out all our new sand and water gear the kids got for Easter. Some sun and family was just what we all needed to finish out this last stretch of school before summertime!

Grandma Bergman

We veered off from our caravan to Grandma Mickie's house to stop and see Grandma Bergman (Jeanne's mom), who was visiting Jeanne and Larry in Enterprise! We haven't seen her since we moved from Monterey, Ca in 2009. We couldn't miss our chance for a quick visit!

Highlights from Easter

The kids had the best time dyeing Easter eggs this year! We had Mike Wozowski (Monsters, Inc), minions (Despicable Me), a fierce creation from Trey, replete with a tiny sword and the British flag! As always, the Easter bunny was good to the kids and we were glad Grandma Mickie and Pop-Pop (Chuck) could spend a few days with us on their return trip from a visit to Chuck's brother, Phil and his wife, Pauline up in South Mills, NC. (Funny enough, they visited Williamsburg just a few days after we went!) Little did they know, they'd have tagalongs for spring break on the way back to Alabama!

Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, Va

After the day of competition in Williamsburg, we were excited to have a free day at Busch Gardens before coming back home. Although it was a little chilly in the upper 50s with bursts of sunshine here and there in the low 60s, I loved the European atmosphere, Ashlynne and Trey loved the animals and rides and Lance loved the food! Only four hours away, hope we can go back soon (when it's warmer!)
