Fun in Gulf Shores & Pensacola

Over the course of our visit, we went down to Gulf Shores several times. Trey and Ashlynne love the beach and we had fun on our trip to the Gulf Shores Zoo too!

Susan's birthday!

Headed back to Grandma Mickie's house on the evening of my birthday and mom and Chuck took me, Ashlynne and Trey out to dinner at my favorite restaurant, Macaroni Grille. I was even serenaded in italian! The next afternoon we had a cook-out and had Tamara and her husband, John and daughter, Jesse along with Nathan, Kathleen, Jordan & Ryan and Mom & Chuck's friend, Mike come over. But it turned into a surprise birthday party for me when dad and Sandy showed up too! Can you believe I actually blew out all those candles on the first try?! Despite the hurricane-like storm that blew in all of a sudden we had a great time!

A visit to Grandaddy & Grandmother's house!

A little more updating on our big summer adventure! We travelled to Marianna, Florida where Grandaddy Richard and Grandmother Sandy live and spent a few days with them. Ashlynne had a blast riding the lawn mower after very little convincing was needed for Grandaddy to let her cut the almost three acres.
Dad's old friend, Bob Boyd and his wife Elaine came to dinner one night and we had fun catching up on old times and eating smoked ribs. And on Susan's birthday we all headed over to the Florida Caverns State Park. Trey had his first lesson in stalagmites, stalactites, flowstone and other cave-drip formations ...which he has promptly forgotten. :-) But he loved playing down in the caves!

Winding Down

Birthday parties, the pool, movies, the beach, water parks, caverns, old friends, relatives.... whew! We seemed to do it all over June and July on our trip to Alabama!

We spent Father's Day at Poppa Chuck and Gramma Mickie's. All of Chuck's kids, family and friends were there for a great cook-out! He loved his t-shirt we gave him :-)

Trey and his cousin Ryan also had fun getting reaquainted with each other. Isn't it funny how kids can be immediate best friends?!

We headed up to North Carolina soon after and Ashlynne was able to visit her best friend, Maddie which she loved. As it stands, looks like there's a 75% chance we'll be heading back there after we're done here in Monterey. Keep you posted!

On our way back to Gramma Mickie's house we stopped to see Aunt Tootie and Uncle Mark. We had a great visit and even got to go to the Atlanta Zoo!
