Lazy Sunday

It's nice to have a weekend once in a while when you're not hustling and bustling to get and go and do. Today Ashlynne and Trey gave Olive a bath (much to her dismay), I'm making chicken and dumplings for dinner and Lance is out tackling the garage.

Don't feel too bad for him though. Last weekend he ran a cable through the garage up into the bonus room so he could watch football on an old tv while he's out there. Every once in while I can hear, "ALRIGHT!!" when I'm in the kitchen. I doubt it's because he found a good place for one of his tools. :-)

Trey's Double-Party Birthday Extravaganza!

Trey turned the big *FOUR* on 4/24/10, and we celebrated his big day at school with a classroom birthday party! Everyone enjoyed Superman cupcakes, ice cream and goodie bags!

Trey made sure everyone knew just how old he was today!

Cute class! Happy Birthday Trey!

Best Buds
....later that night... Trey remembers to come back down for his balloons!

We had a family party that Saturday with a Scooby Doo themed cake-- his favorite!

That afternoon, we all went Geocaching for the first time. It's sort of a scavenger hunt with online clues to help you find treasures (not to keep!) all over town. These pictures are from our very first "find"-- Fun!

Next, Trey picked out where he'd like to have a birthday lunch and he picked Red Robin. He was so surprised they brought him a sundae, balloon and sang to him! Awwww.... Afterwards we grabbed Ashlynne's friend, Skylar, and went to a movie, THEN...whew!... back to the house for some late cake and ice cream. :-)

Dance Recital 5/10

Ashlynne's spring dance recital was this past May and she did a beautiful job! She was in a jazz number called "Smooth Criminal" which was one of a few tributes to Michael Jackson and a beautiful ballet number to Celine Dion's 'Ave Maria', where they were fallen angels.
Cumberland Dance Academy did a wonderful thing this year and broke the recital up into two segments, where the littlest ones were earlier in the day and the older classes were in the late afternoon. So instead of sitting there for about 4 to 4 1/2 hours to see two numbers, it was just over 2! (not that I didn't loooove every minute of it!)

Ashlynne brought her friend, Skylar, who is taking ballet with her now....
(disregard that date stamp, one of these days I'll figure that out)

I have no idea which one she is, but you get the idea!

You got it, she's the one with a hand directly over her face. Oh well....

Great job!

"It's just an old bug..."

We were never really sure what Trey had in his hand, but he was convinced in was "just an old bug" and Ashlynne and I were being silly to be so scared :-)

(be sure to pause the music so you can hear)

There were LOTS of caterpillars around the park and Trey had a good time investigating...
