Ashlynne Turns Sweet 16!

It was a BIG day to celebrate for Ashlynne today. She turned 16 AND had her Dance Recital where she would be performing in three numbers- ballet, jazz and lyrical. She already got one of her presents in the form of a surprise the day before: Grandma Mickie flew in for a surprise birthday visit! She was shocked!

One thing Ashlynne asked for as a gift was a beautiful cake and she sure got it. This is one cake we'll all remember for years to come. It was from a wonderful baker named Erica who owns Mmm...cake! (www.mmmcake.org) in Fayetteville. It was a coconut cake with strawberry filling. Yum!

Another surprise she didn't see coming was at the start of the dance recital. She and three other students from Cumberland Dance Academy were asked to come onstage and recieve one-year scholarships for being talented students and exemplifying outstanding character! Way to go, Ashlynne!
